7 months on in our cafe and all is going well

Well we have now been in New Zealand 9 months and have had our wee cafe for just over 7 1/2 months.  We are so pleased at how it is going and have some lovely customers.  As you can see from photos below I am busy every morning making scones, muffins, cakes and slices.
I make all these scones, muffins and cakes daily so it is an early start for us.  Paul is very good at the chatting bit but anyone who knows him this is no surprise.

Busy friday nice to hear all the chatter and laughter.
Look at what is left after the customers have left not much makes my heart glad that I didn`t waste my time this morning
Well someone has to clean up.................................
Awwwww so cute made these for one of our customers who is going to be a grandma for the first time so pretty....................................

I have a brand new great niece and so am enjoying making lots of little baby things. They are so quick and look adorable. I love the little things you have made xxx

  6. Your baking looks absolutely delicious, no wonder it's a success though lots of hard work too, do you ever get fed up making the same things? I like the look of New Zealand from your blog, just so far away and quite a big decision to make to emigrate but I know of quite a few families who have done so recently to Australia, they're very adventurous compared to me.

  7. Hi, Thank you all for your lovely comments, I enjoy baking but do get a wee bit fed up as it is a never ending job and seem to be up to my elbows in flour day in day out. I get lots of very nice comments so it makes it all worthwhile. Andamento it is a wee bit adventurous for us to move all the way to the other side of the world but we don`t have children so was made a wee bit easier and we came with the attitude that if it didn`t work out for us we could come home, thank goodness our business worked out for us. Miss lots of things about Scotland and the pull is still very strong. My advice to anyone thinking about emigrating is just give it a go because it is better to try and fail than to have lots of what ifs. I found it really hard to leave my sister and was a wee bit of a wreck at the airport there is always skype and internet. I will always be a proud scot but for the moment am happy to be here. xxx
