hats and new blanket

I love making hats they take about an hour to make, with the winter is coming I Have been doing lots of wooly things to keep me warm.  Working on a new blanket to keep me cozy as it does get chilly here in the evenings.  Cant really see the colours too well in this photo but they are lovely and the wool is similar to chenille so is lovely and soft.

This blanket is made in huge hexagons that are joined as I go it is getting really big,  I am hoping it is going to be big enough to double it over me when I am sitting watching T.V.

A very sad day for New Zealand

My thoughts go out to all the people caught up in Christchurch earthquake.  We are in the North Island but there just a sense of shock and disbelief,  the government and emergency services are doing a fantastic job.

A visitor from the other side of the world

A friendly face from Scotland.  It was lovely to see Mairi when she was over visiting and popped into see us, was great having a catch up but also very surreal having her sitting in our lounge in New Zealand............

The best way to spend a sunday afternoon sitting on the deck making crochet flowers.

Loving this blanket going to be warm and cosy this winter............

Pauls mum is visiting us in February so made a lovely granny blanket that should keep her warm and

cosy.  Loved doing this blanket as i used a 7.00mm hook and chunky yarn really pleased with how it turned out.

We have had a couple of lovely days so have had some wonderful

sunsets and then this came on the back of 2 cyclones passing over NZ
